我原知道他们的痛苦（出3：7）。 他多受痛苦，常经忧患（赛53：3）。我们的大祭司并非不能体恤我们的软弱（来4：15）。他代替我们的软弱，担当我们的疾病（太8：17）。耶稣因走路困乏，就坐在井旁（约4：6）。耶稣看见他哭，并看见与他同来的犹太人也哭，就心里悲叹，又甚忧愁，耶稣哭了（约11：33，35）。他自己既然被试探而受苦，就能搭救被试探的人（来2：18）。

趁着白日，我们必须作那差我来者的工（约9：4）。 懒惰人羡慕，却无所得，殷勤人必得丰裕（箴13：4）。滋润人的，必得滋润（箴11：25）。我的食物就是遵行差我来者的旨意，作成他的工。你们岂不说：到收割的时候，还有四个月吗？我告诉你们：举目向田观看，庄稼已经熟了，可以收割了。收割的人得工价，积蓄五谷到永生，叫撒种的和收割的一同快乐（约4：34…36）。 天国好像家主清早出去，雇人进他的葡萄园作工，和工人讲定一天一钱银子，就打发他们进葡萄园去（太20：1，2）。务要传道，无论得时不得时（提后4：2）。你们去作生意，直等我回来（路19：13）。我比众使徒格外劳苦，这原不是我，乃是 神的恩与我同在（林前15：10）。 I must work the works of him that sent me； while it is day。 The soul of the sluggard desireth； and hath nothing： but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat。 — He that watereth shall be watered。
